There are condolences waiting approval on JULIA's Tribute wall

JULIA MONICA NIEDZWIECKI (nee Pogonowski) born May 5, 1911, passed away peacefully at her home on August 21, 2019. Yes, she was 108 years old. Beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of JoAnn (James), Nancy (Mark) and Regina (Michael); cherished grandmother of Emily, Curtis (Katie), Rebecca, Edward, Lori, Melissa (deceased), Amy, Matthew (deceased), Mark (deceased), Peter and Charles (deceased); Jennifer (Mike), Rachael (Aaron) and Owen; Maura, Matthew and Michelle; delightful great grandmother of ten.
Julia was the oldest child of Edward and Felicia (nee Trzjaska) Pogonowski and treasured sister of Joseph (Josephine), Marie (Harry) and Edward, all deceased. She was born in Cleveland and grew up on the East Side, where she continued to live while working at Richman Brothers. Julia was active socially and enjoyed several marriage proposals before accepting Joe Niedzwiecki’s, the man who won her heart and adored and respected her their entire married life. They moved to West Park in 1956 where she continued to live until her final breath.
Julia and Joe enjoyed entertaining family and friends and traveling with and without their children. When Joe died prematurely in 1979, she continued her many volunteer activities with the Christ Child Society, St. John Hospital, St. Mark Parish and School and various other charities. Julia and her sister Marie traveled on many church trips, both within the United States and in Europe. Dr. Harry Konys would join them as his schedule permitted but the “Snoop Sisters” as they were affectionately referred to by many relatives, kept a lively schedule that few could emulate well into their 90’s - and for Julie, into her second century.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE, 25620 CENTER RIDGE ROAD (west of Columbia Road) TUESDAY, AUGUST 27 from 3-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM, Wednesday August 28 at St. Mark Church, 15800 Montrose Ave., Cleveland OH 44111. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, Julie requested donations to St. Mark SCHOOL, St. Joseph Academy or a charity of choice. As an homage to their mother who LOVED pink, the family suggests that friends and family wear something pink to the Celebration of Julia’s life.
