Obituary for DORIS MARY HOLLER MURRAY

DORIS MARY HOLLER MURRAY died at age 95 on December 6, 2018. Born on July 28, 1923 in Tonawanda, NY, Doris was the fourth of Wilbert and Bertha Holler's ten children. At the age of 21 she joined the US Navy as a Wave to serve in WWII. After the war she took a job in administration at the Durez Chemical Corporation where she met Sydney "Clark" Murray. They married on June 26 in 1948, living first in Tonawanda, NY where they had five children and then moved in 1966 to Rocky River, OH where they made their long term home. Doris had a strong sense of business and craft and ran antique stores and a small business making children's furniture. She made her permanent home in Rocky River where her business, connection to community through church, golf and antiquing made her a beloved member of the faith and business communities. She is survived by four children, including Jeffrey (wife Ann Marie and children Ryan, Christopher and Kaitlin); Kevin (wife Beth and children Megan and Nicholas); Pamela (husband Len Harry and children Matthew and Sean); and Jonathan (wife Laurie and children Jonathan, Melanie and Allison). Doris was preceded in death, after 54 years of marriage, by her husband Clark in 2002, and by her son Gregory who died in 1980. She had 12 great-grandchildren.
