Obituary for ANNIE J. BOYD

ANNIE JOSEPHINE BOYD (nee Mathis). Annie was born in Anniston, Alabama to the late Eddie and Myrtle Mathis. She passed away at Manor Care Health Service in North Olmsted, Ohio where she lived for many years, until the age of 87. Annie was a school teacher for over 30 years until she retired. She always loved the children and taught them well. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord and always praised Him until her last days. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Vanessa Boyd of Honolulu, Hawaii; two brother- in-laws, Joe Wyatt Sr. and Earl Tucker Sr. both of Saginaw, Michigan. Many nephews and nieces including a special nephew Dennis (Nenita) Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada and a niece Deborah Miller Johnson of San Diego, California. She also leaves to cherish her memory a special friend, Carolyn Lewis Evans of Toledo, Ohio. Annie was preceded in death by her four sisters, Ernestine Wyatt, Lorraine Miller, Mary Tucker and Jessie Tucker, her brother, Eddie Mathis Jr. and stepmother Addie Mathis. Funeral Services for Annie Josephine Boyd, 87, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 12, at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Homes, 25620 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH with Pastor Dan Sewell of New Hope Church, Fairview Park, OH, officiating. Following the service, Ms. Boyd will be laid to rest at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, 25570-25746 Butternut Ridge Rd, North Olmsted, OH. Public visitation with family hour is Saturday, August 12, from 10 – 11 a.m., at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Homes, Westlake
